Leslie opened Farmhouse School when she bought the historic Beatty-Mongerson property in the spring of 2021.  Before then, she had a successful marketing career and was teaching kids to grow and cook as a side hustle.  Along the way, she launched a community garden project in her neighborhood, worked with a middle school to create a new garden and club, and won the Daily Herald Cook of the Year competition.  She continues to write a column in that paper, focused on cooking with kids.  Leslie is delighted to be able to expand her operation to a full-time, full-heart endeavor with plenty of space to grow, teach, cook and savor in a picturesque rural setting.
